The Mama ti Fatima medical complex is a project promoted and sponsored by the Association Notre Dame de Fatima pour le Développement (ANDFD), with registered office at Avenue de la CEMAC BP: 1427, Bangui, capital of the Central African Republic.
   
The difficult social, economic and health situation in the Central African Republic, aggravated by years of conflict, requires not only the intervention of public authorities or international organisations, but also a greater involvement of civil society as a whole
​​in the solution of the many problems faced by the population on a daily basis.
 
In this context, and as a result of the process of discernment in the face of this reality, the faithful of the Parish of Notre Dame de Fatima, administered by the Comboni Missionaries of Bangui, have formed a lay, non-political and non-profit association, recognised by the Central African State (*), to promote integral human development and peace in the Central African Republic.
This association is managed independently of the parish and is presided over by a lay person elected according to its statutes. Its board of directors includes as an ex officio member a representative of the parish, the parish priest, who is a Comboni Missionary.

EXAMPLE OF ACTIVITIES

The robotics team takes part in First Global Singapore 2023

FIRST Global Challenge is an annual international robotics competition that aims to ignite a passion for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in more than two billion young people around the world. By bringing together these future STEM leaders in an engaging and collaborative competition that highlights the importance, excitement and applicability of STEM education, FIRST Global inspires young people to develop the skills they will need to make the discoveries their parents and grandparents consider miracles, impossibilities or simply science fiction.
FIRST Global also works to convince governments and organisations around the world to embrace and support science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) education by investing in the future of young adults who will soon begin to make their mark on the world.

Each year, a different challenge takes centre stage to foster understanding and cooperation between young people from around the world as they use their skills to solve the problems of planet earth, including the 14 Grand Challenges for Engineering identified by the US National Academy of Engineering. Participation in FIRST Global is not just about robots. By learning to find solutions to the world's greatest challenges - water, energy, security, medicine, food, climate and education - participants learn to work in teams, develop cross-cultural joint projects and become part of a truly global community.
For its 3rd participation this year in Singapore (after Mexico 2018 and Dubai 2019), the Central African team of 07 people (05 participants and 2 mentors) benefited from practical training sessions on advanced programming, embedded systems and artificial intelligence at the Centre des Martyrs de Fatima in collaboration with Yali Centrafrique and the support of technical partner First BeAfrika, a Central African start-up promoting technological entrepreneurship. This year's challenge is Hydrogen Horizons.
